My purpose in every coaching relationship is to bring out the best in my coaching clients, enabling them to deploy their unique strengths in their unique situations.
In 45 years of work with leaders, I’ve learned you can't lead others well until you've learned to “lead yourself.” The leader who hasn't done that inner work — who hasn't built self-awareness, emotional steadiness, and a clear sense of purpose — will eventually hit a ceiling no title or strategy can lift. The leader who has done that work becomes magnetic. People lean toward them. Trust grows around them. Teams come alive under them. That's the heart of leading with wisdom.
So whether you're stepping into a new role, working through a sticking point, or sharpening already-strong skills for what's next, the goal is the same: to help you become the kind of leader who attracts, energizes, and keeps great people — and whose people are contributing to goals that matter in the organization.
I work with three kinds of leaders.

Few moments shape a leader's long-term success more than the first six to twelve months in a new role. New team. New culture. New stakeholders sizing you up. New pressures you can't yet see coming. The skills that got you the job aren't always the skills that will help you thrive in it, and the cost of a rocky start can take years of recovery.
Onboarding coaching is a strategic investment. We'll work together to help you read the room before you're expected to lead it — understanding the culture, the personalities, and the unwritten rules. We'll focus on building genuine relationships with your team, your peers, and the people you report to, so trust grows quickly and naturally. And we'll get clarity on what winning actually looks like in this seat, so your early efforts land where they matter most.
Whether you're new to the organization, new to the level, or stepping into a role with significantly higher stakes, the goal is the same: to help you not just survive the transition, but to come out of those first months with momentum, credibility, and clear footing for everything that comes next.

You or someone who cares about your career has identified a pattern that's getting in the way of your success. Maybe communication has gotten harsh. Maybe burnout is showing up dressed in short fuses or quiet withdrawal. Maybe your emotional control is slipping under pressure. Maybe feedback has surfaced things like sarcasm, overreactions, autocratic decision-making, conflict avoidance, or trouble really hearing your people.
These patterns are far more common than you might think, and they're far more changeable than people often realize. As both a psychologist and an executive coach, I've helped many leaders make what I call a real "conversion" in leadership style: from reactive to grounded, from resented to respected, from technically capable to genuinely magnetic.
We'll look honestly at what's not working, get clear on what's underneath it, and build the mindsets, skills, and habits that produce a different result. Because once you can manage yourself well — your reactions, your relationships, your stress responses — the people around you can finally experience the leader you're capable of being.

Some of my favorite work is with leaders who aren't broken; they're hungry. You're already good. Your people already follow you. And you're being prepared, formally or informally, for greater responsibility. You want a thinking partner who can help you sharpen your edges, deepen your emotional intelligence, expand your influence, and step into the next level with confidence rather than bravado.
For these leaders, coaching is less about fixing and more about refining. We'll identify the strengths you can lean into harder, the blind spots that always come with strengths, and the leadership presence that turns "good manager" into "the kind of leader people want to follow." We'll also tackle the quieter challenges that come with rising: managing higher-stakes relationships, leading other leaders, holding strategic clarity when the noise gets loud, and protecting your own steadiness as the demands grow.
This is coaching for the long game. Not a quick polish but a real, durable deepening of your capacity to lead with wisdom.
Whichever door you walk through, the Magnetic Leadership Coaching Process follows a clear, intentional path. The general process is modified as needed to meet specific goals.

We begin with a conversation about how coaching actually works — what to expect, what's required of you, and what you can expect of me. No surprises, no fine print. Just a clear understanding before we go any further.
This is where I start to know you — your story, your role, your goals, your concerns, what's brought you here, and what you hope to walk away with. Honest conversation, no agenda except getting clear together.
With your knowledge and consent, I'll talk with a small group of individuals who have worked with you — supervisors, peers, direct reports, and (when helpful) a spouse or significant other. For onboarding, this includes interviews with prospective supervisors, team members, and peers so that you know more about their experiences and expectations. When I interview people who already know you and work with you, they provide their observations about how they experience you from the outside, which often reveals both strengths you've underestimated and patterns you couldn't see from your seat. They’ll also clarify expectations, which are critical for you to understand.
You and I will set aside approximately a half day to thoughtfully explore your personal insights, leadership assessment results, and feedback. Integrating all of these will provide key insights for us on the goals that will produce the strongest positive ripple effects. We’ll leave that important work session with 3-5 targets that you choose for your coaching focus.
Learn how to cook healthy and delicious meals with our cooking classes. Our expert chefs will teach you how to prepare nutritious meals that taste great and are easy to make.
After setting targeted goals together. We’ll move into the real work — the coaching sessions, the skill-building, the practice in your live work setting, and the accountability that turns insight into actual change.
This doesn’t mean I’m going to “be your shrink.” It does mean I have special expertise in thought and behavior change, which I’ve gained in extensive training in psychology and organizational leadership, in decades of counseling and coaching work, and in a lifetime of experience dealing with challenges – others’ and my own! We won't just talk about what to do differently; we'll get at the thoughts, beliefs, and patterns driving the behavior in the first place, so that the change actually sticks.
I'll be in your corner, encouraging your small steps of progress, and I'll also tell you the truth. Both, every single time.
As we work on your goals, you’ll be learning how to be the kind of leader people lean toward, not away from because you've done the inner work that makes outer impact possible.
