Forensic Services
Dr. Beverly Smallwood is a licensed psychologist with over twenty years of experience serving as an expert in forensic settings. She has received extensive training from the American Board of Forensic Psychology. She conducts evaluations, consults with attorneys, and provides expert testimony in criminal cases and personal injury cases.
In criminal cases, Beverly is more often retained by the defense, but has also consulted on numerous occasions with the State. Also, in civil cases, she works with both plaintiff and defense.

Criminal Prosecution
Dr. Smallwood is often called by the prosecution for consultation on criminal cases. Examples of the areas in which psychological consultation is requested are:
- psychological analysis of evidence to aid in determining the advisability of plea bargaining;
- critique of psychological evaluations by other mental health professionals;
- assistance in assessing potential for re-offending or violence;
- preparation for cross-examination of other mental health experts.
