LEADER AS COMMUNICATOR…
SPEAKING THEIR LANGUAGE, HEARING THEIR HEARTS:
How to Communicate Clearly and Persuasively
The single most discussed and least implemented
leadership skill is communication. Even those who
believe they communicate well often mean they talk a
lot; yet they fail to really listen. Effective
communication is a two-way process.
This workshop raises leaders’ awareness of the
importance of communication in solidifying work
relationships and in getting things done. They explore
everyday situations, examining their own improvement
opportunities and practicing methods that enhance
genuine understanding and follow-through.
In this leadership development workshop, participants
will:
find out how to build positive two-way communication
into a busy schedule;
learn how to tailor communications to people of diverse
backgrounds, personalities, and generations;
explore how to really listen to what employees and
others are trying to communicate, not just to what they
are saying with words;
look at their own personal communication histories,
identifying and addressing sensitivities, styles, and
habits that may be inhibiting their becoming their best
at communication;
identify the most common communication barriers in their
own workplace environment and create an action plan to
remove them.
